Although the most of action is placed in deserts, mountains, forests and misterious rivers, the game relates with it predecessor in trilogy by story and vocabularty. Although without graphics, Level 9 is one of rare companies that uses language to create pictures in our imagination.

This adventure game with roles conists of six programs. Your task is to collect seven rings of creating and neutralize power of Black crystal. Authors Roy Carnell and Stuart Galloway located the game in their own fantazy world, Third continent. The effort they did in several years gave nice result. No author ever took role playing games or adventures before programming. The result is delicat game, completely different from other adventure games. It's size is epic, exploration chalinging and story dramatic.

Two sirs, Crowther and Woods, a long time ago, made one adventure game on huge DEC machine and started the computer scene of adventures and similar games. Their adventure is still one of most beautiful and there are several Spectrum versions. One of them is Colossal adventure with additional bonus of 170 new locations. With advanced word compression techincs, program contains long textual descriptions, big lexicon and hunderds of rooms and puzzles. The program has all elements of classical version, dungeon, complication, a lot of humour and makes real feeling of pleasure.

Converted faithfully from the book with all the characters present and correct. The Hobbit perplexed gamers for months on end. Luckily, it was so rewarding that players stuck at it 'til the end. It's also the game that introduced the phrase 'Thorin sits down and sings about gold' into the national consciousness. No, I don't quite understand it either, but that's adventiure fans for you.

The game includes more than 200 locations and 80 objects. It fits in 48 K using special data compressor. The game is own class, because it contains adventures in adventure. There are nine, and every has at least three scenes. Complexness of fabula can take attention of players for months and gives eternal place in history of adventures.

The first in trilogy of text only adventures places the player in dangerous situations, while he must fight against many creatures with goal to make as big damage as possible. The game has new fighting system, improved scoring method from "Dungeons and dragons", where the person is determined based on system of points. "Mountains of Ket" are very detail in fabula and atmosphere, including even monetar system. Author included interactive persons, although not so inteligent, have own decissions unrelated to decissions of the player.

In one of the first real graphic adventures the hero explores the net of caves fighting many monsters. You can choose between four seeks and finish the game in limited time. This follower of the classic game "Hobbit" was written for one year and half, six months more than planned. Done on conception of personality interaction, "Sherlock" introduces a lot of persons and increased perfectness of the commands. The game asks you to solve complex mistery completed with many side details which create authentic atmosphere, from Sherlock Holmes stories. In spite of weak graphic, the game is very interesting and took eternal place in hearts of adventure games fans.

There are few adventure games that sucess to tie logical problems and fight against monsters, and Velnor's Lair remains on of the best and earliests. Well done and underestimated game.
